NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
FOR THE US DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT PATHWAYS TO REMOVING OBSTACLES TO HOUSING (PRO HOUSING) GRANT
The MidSouth Development District (MDD), Northwest Tennessee Development District (NWTDD) and Southwest Tennessee Development District (SWTDD) invite you to provide input as they develop a grant request for the Community Planning and Development: Pathways to Removing Obstacles to Housing grant funding opportunity. This meeting will hear comments on the development of a draft grant application.

The meeting will cover the proposed concepts and strategies included in our joint grant application for west Tennessee. Specifically, the development of a regulatory toolkit to establish consistent zone districts, regulations, ordinance templates, and processes across communities to increase predictability and transparency in the process of building housing that is attainable to the citizens of west Tennessee. The grant also seeks funding to hire staff to work directly with communities on adapting this toolkit to the unique needs of each community and the local adoption process, as appropriate.
The action plan will be available for 15 days for public comment starting October 11, 2023 before the action plan is submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for consideration. The plan will be available on www.midsouthdd.org, www.swtdd.org, and www.nwtdd.org.
The Southwest Tennessee Development District is an accessible facility with ground level entry and access to the meeting room.
